স্বাধীনতার ঘোষণা পত্র
কমান্ডো বাহিনী বঙ্গবন্ধুকে ধরে নিয়ে যাবার আগে তিনি বাংলাদেশকে একটি
স্বাধীন দেশ হিসেবে ঘোষণা করেন। তাঁর ঘোষণাটি তৎকালীন ই.পি আর এর ট্রান্সমিটারের
মাধ্যমে ঢাকা থেকে চট্টগ্রাম, তারপর সারাদেশে জানানো হয়।
২৬ মার্চের স্বাধীন বাংলার প্রথম বেতার কেন্দ্র চট্টগ্রামের কালুরঘাট
থেকে জনাব এম এ হান্নানসহ ও অন্যান্য আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা জাতির জনক বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ
মুজিবুর রহমানের স্বাধীনতার ঘোষণা পাঠ করেন।
বঙ্গবন্ধু স্বাধীনতার ঘোষণা করেন,
· This may be my last message, from today Bangladesh is Independent.
I call upon the people of Bangladesh wherever you might be and with whatever
you have, to resist the army of occupation to the last. Your fight must go on
until the last soldier of the Pakistan occupation army is expelled from the
soil of Bangladesh and final victory is achieved’.
এর বাংলা অনুবাদ দাঁড়ায় এমন: ‘এটাই হয়ত আমার শেষ বার্তা, আজ থেকে
বাংলাদেশ স্বাধীন। বাংলাদেশের জনগণ, তোমরা যে যেখানেই আছ এবং যার যা কিছু আছে তাই
নিয়ে শেষ পর্যন্ত দখলদার সৈন্য বাহিনীকে প্রতিরোধ করার জন্য আমি তোমাদের আহ্বান
জানাচ্ছি। পাকিস্তান দখলদার বাহিনীর শেষ সৈনিকটিকে বাংলাদেশের মাটি থেকে বিতাড়িত
করে চূড়ান্ত বিজয় অর্জিত না হওয়া পর্যন্ত তোমাদের যুদ্ধ চালিয়ে যেতে হবে।’ (সূত্র:

জিয়া ঘোষণা পত্রটি বঙ্গবন্ধুর পক্ষে যেভাবে পাঠ করেছিলেন তা হলোঃ
· the Government of Sovereign state of Bangladesh, on behalf of our
great leader, the supreme commander
Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, we hereby proclaim the independence of
Bangladesh and the government headed by
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has already been formed. It is father proclaim that
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the sole leader of the elected representatives of
Seventy Five million people of Bangladesh, and the government headed by him is
the only legitimate government of the people of independent Sovereign state of
Bangladesh,which is legally and continuously formed, and is Worth of being
recognised by all the governments of the
world.......May Allah help us Joy Bangla. "
